Just a quick question

I’m trying to write “I bought a souvenir for my mother”
My attempt: 私はお土産を飼いましたでお母

  1. 私は母にお土産を買った。

    私は母にお土産を買いました。

    私はお母さんにお土産を買った。

    私はお母さんにお土産を買いました。

  2. -The main verb always comes at the end, so you would have to move “for my mother” in front of that.

-You call your mother 母(はは) or お母(か)さん, not お母.

-Particles go after words, so the particle should come after “my mother”. In this case, the particle should be に, which is used when you do something to someone(e.g. 会う). I don’t know the exact term because I don’t learn Japanese in English. So it would be 母に.

-When you do something for someone, you use (verb)てあげる. You would have to write 買ってあげる.

The corrects sentence would be 私は母にお土産を買ってあげました。

  3. The kanji you’re using for 買いました is wrong. 飼いました is used for keeping/raising pets, which is…probably not what you meant to say in this case. Other commenters covered the grammatical mistakes already

  4. By the way, if you need an answer to a quick question there’s a daily thread on this sub for this kind of things. It’s always pinned on top, so you don’t have to search for it
