Favorite Car Camp Spots?

Just curious if anyone has any favorite car camping spots, or ones they really recommend? Or flipside not recommend?

Far from experienced, but so some highlights that stand out in my few camp trips in the last 2-3 years.

Based near Kobe so obviously this is more Kansai centric.

1) Daisen FBI in Tottori. Well maintained but you should arrive early to find a spot thats level/flat as s number of the camp spots are on a slight slope. Easy drive to Mt. Daisen, which is beautiful, famous for star gazing as well.

FBI (place name) may get a bad rap as their other location in Awaji Island (between Kobe and Shikoku) is more of a younger party camp spot, but my experience at Daisen FBI was mostly families and quite relaxed.

2) Kyoto Hiyoshi Dam. Nice spot for car camping, but its one big open field. Most spots have a slight slope so arrive very very early to nab a spot thats not on a slope. The onsen thats 3-4 min walk away is quite nice.

3) Shikoku Snow Peak Tosashimizu. Close to many beaches for surfing/swimming, and well maintained as it should be for a snow peak camp spot. We were the only ones without a huge hotel style snow peak tent, but overall I like this car camp spot and love Shikoku in general. Want to go back with our upgraded setup.
