Covid Test for Entry

Hey all. So, I was just reading about the Japan entry requirements, and it seems like the COVID test we need to submit 72 hours before departure needs to be signed by a doctor. Where would you recommend I get this test done? I live in Arizona, USA, and thus far the only COVID tests I’ve done have been at my local pharmacy. I don’t have a primary care doc either.

  1. Hey there, when we left, the consulate gave us some recommendations in AZ. Specifically, most of us went through Saguaro Bloom. They gave us a signature along with a stamp of their seal if I remember correctly. Seeing as they did it for most of the AZ jets in our group, I’d assume they’re still familiar with the process.

They were relatively quick. Did it in one day. Results came near the end of the day when it was closer to closing time.

However, they’re only in Scottsdale I think. So depending on where you live, it might be a bit of a drive.

Edit: but by all means, go through any of the suggested places that the consulate gives you. They gave us suggestions during pre departure orientation.

  2. Pharmacist or PA or NP is fine too at the pharmacy where you took the test

  3. I got one at Walgreens a few weeks ago (free with my insurance) and they sent a letter with the results that was signed by (I think) the person who presided over the testing. It was a print-out letter though, so the signature wasn’t signed live. I don’t know if that matters.

  4. On a related note: does anyone know if a two-dose Pfizer vaccine is acceptable, or are we required to get the third booster shot as well?

  5. I just got covid 3 weeks ago, does anyone know how this might change the requirements? I know you can still test positive up to 3 months after getting it, so I’m super nervous about it.

  6. I did mine at Passport Health. It was about 50 dollars more than other places, but they were the least stressful option for me personally since they were already familiar with what documents Japan wanted and how to fill out the form. Did a quick google search and it looks like there’s a few in Arizona!
