Applying for Hoikuen – should I visit the place for a better chance of getting in

I’ve sent the application for Hoikuen next year and filled in all 9 of the “desired options” based on the distance of the Hoikuen from my house. I know that it’s a point-based system which would give people who are working a better chance to get in, but I wonder if visiting the Hoikuen matters, because I did not visit any of the place prior to submitting the application.

I really appreciate any advice regarding this problem! I want to know what are the activities for 0 years old child at a Hoikuen also, so if you can share any information or experience I would love to hear it.

  1. Do you speak or read Japanese? I’m fairly certain Google could tell you all that you need to know about your specific places by gooling hoikuen + ロコミ

  2. You’re going to have to actually visit the hoikuen to see what the activities are, as each one has a different curriculum. Some keep the kids in the classroom the entire day, some have limited outside time, so do baby-appropriate arts & crafts…
It’s different at every school and you won’t know unless you ask the individual school.
