hopefully the instructors win this case and break the 5yr job hunting cycle foreign instructors go through while their sometimes “less capable” Japanese counterparts get tenure …
My uni did this, but were sneaky enough to write the 10-year limit on our new contracts.
I’ll be leaving after 13 years next spring, good luck to them but they don’t deserve to find good teachers for the (exact same) positions they were advertising last month…
