My job allows me a 1k stipend for each quarter of the year on anything I’d like to learn. I think I want to use it on learning Japanese but most of the suggestions I see are for free resources/self learning.
Are there any online courses or resources that have helped you learn Japanese that are a must buy? For some context I took accelerated Japanese I in college and it was such an amazing experience. Having a teacher actually guide you made it so that what I learned really stuck with my over the past 10 years.

I recommend online lessons.
When in a similar situation, I used my stipend on a service called [Nihongo Pro](https://www.nihongo-pro.com/). It’s no frills and the price is quite good, so I kept paying out of pocket.
Basically it just buys you one-on-one time for a video chat with a japanese teacher. My teacher was great, but I’m sure it can depend a lot on who your teacher is and if it is a good fit.
For context, I was living in Japan, already had a strong base, and just wanted to get ready to pass the N2 exam.
That time will be most productive if you are clear with your teacher on what you want to get out of it, and also set up assignments with your teacher, and come prepared to each meeting.
