Where can I find someone in Japan I met 25 years ago?

Hi. When I was young, 2 Japanese students came to stay with my family. After they went home, we used to send letters to each other, but we lost touch because me and my family moved a lot. I have their first and last names (at the time) and pictures of us when they were staying with us. I’ve tried to search for their names on Facebook but there are many many people by these names.

I also figure that they might be on social media that is more popular in Japan and not on things like Facebook at all.

Do you think it’s possible to find them? Where would I begin to look, or where would I post?

  1. Best of luck, but I don’t think you will find them unless they use the same address.

Finding them by name is almost impossible since there are probably millions of people with the same name and surname.

  2. Do the letters still have old addresses with/on them? You could start there.

Also you at least have an age range, so that’s helpful.

  3. Your best bet is the address. Japanese do not tend to move as much as Westerners, especially Americans. And the post office can be very good.
