Birth control pills English speaking clinics in Osaka

My Japanese isn’t good and I can’t really bring anyone to help me. Can anyone suggest a clinic that is foreigner friendly? Thanks in advance.

  1. You may also want to try asking in /r/Osaka.

  2. They’re all foreigner friendly.

Remember, birth control is not covered under your NHI, it’s also expensive. You don’t need the pills for birth control you need them to help regulate your period or some other medical necessity.

You’ll have to visit monthly to get them for a while until you can get them to give you 2 months at a visit. This will continue because Japan (I’ve been on the same heart/BP medication for almost 10 years and go in every 2 months – on a brighter note I see a doctor about my heart/BP every 2 months).

  3. I also had to say my birth control is for medical reasons, to help regulate my cycle. I went in the first time and they gave me 1 month pack to try, and then at the end of the month I went back and said everything was fine, and I was able to get 3-month supply. I get the cheapest and they are about ¥3000 per 1-month pack.

  4. No English does not mean the clinic is not foreigner friendly. Those are 2 totally unrelated things. I’ve never met a doctor that isn’t foreigner friendly.

Anyway, in my experience all doctors will try their best to make themselves understandable to you. Make sure to return the favor and bring out your best Japanese, consider it a learning experience at the same time.
