We leave for Tokyo on Tuesday then will be in Kawaguchiko, Kyoto and Osaka.
Looking for feedback on this itinerary. Is this too much or just enough? We’re really into nature, photography, good food and culture.
Thinking about doing a guided tour of Gion to learn about the history. We’re trying to decide which evening it makes to do a Gion night tour with our schedules, open to feedback on that. And if anyone has recommendations for a tour guide please let me know!

So when I went to Arashiyama, I actually did a full hike in the hills that eventually climbs above the bamboo areas. The views of Kyoto from up there are great too. The core pictures you see online is the general tourist attraction and I’m not sure people always realize the hike trails are there. That’s one nature tip I have for you.
There’s so many things to do in Kyoto, I’m sure you’ll love doing whatever comes along.
