universities info

i’m currently in 12th grade so i’ve been researching on a few unis in japan i would apply to when the application period starts, so i want to know if anyone has any feedback on these unis-

International Christian University (it has the major i want but i’m worried about the tuition fees and living expenses, especially since it’s situated in tokyo)

Osaka University (this is the main uni i want to get accepted to)

Ritsumeikan University (i wanna know how this uni is. i know APU is considered better but it doesn’t have my subjects)

tokyo international university

University of Tsukuba

btw i’m gonna apply for bachelor of arts/human sciences degree. only in case of Tsukuba, i’m thinking of taking up environmental sciences. all of the programs i’ll apply to are english-based.

  1. Did you have any specific questions about them?

Couple unsolicited pieces of advice. If you plan to work in Japan after you graduate, you might want to make sure you’ll be employable as a foreigner with whatever degree you choose

Also cost of living in Tokyo is very reasonable compared to almost anywhere in the US these days. The idea of it being expensive compared to other developed countries is a few decades out of date

  2. I applied to Tsukuba and got accepted. If you want you can ask me some questions about the admission process :))

  3. Osaka University and Tsukuba are the only schools on your list that ranks in the top 300 worldwide and potentially have international recognition.

  4. FYI, ICU is indeed in Tokyo prefecture, but it’s in what you would call a close suburb of the actual city. ICU campus actually feels very isolated from the rest of Tokyo, particularly because it’s not accessible by train. You have to take a bus to get there from anywhere else.
