Is solely textbook-self-studying enough?

I’ve just been using textbooks so far to study (Self study btw), with a bit of native content immersion sprinkled in. I’ve seen plenty of study plans that use RTK, WaniKani, and plenty of other resources. Obviously they will have more practice and learn kanji quicker, but will I be at a **severe** disadvantage by solely using a textbook learning style? I heard that my textbook-only style flies up until \~N3, where you have to focus more on conversing with others & reading/watching native media.

Ik that obviously everyone has different styles and preferences of how to study, I just want to make sure I’m not shooting myself in the foot by say, not reviewing more kanji now, doing more speaking practice, looking into pitch accent and pronunciation, etc.

  1. don’t wait for kanji or for conversation or writing practice, just make it a normal part of your studies at all times
