Hi folks! I’m moving to Japan for a year this January, and will need to get my antidepressant prescription refilled whilst living in Japan as I can only bring a months supply with me. My employer recommended International Pharmacy, has anyone used this? Is it worth it? Or will a Japanese doctor/pharmacy be able to prescribe it with relatively little fuss? I can’t seem to find much info on the subject so anything is a plus! Thank you! 😊

I use international pharmacy for other types of meds. They’re pretty okay, seeing there are few alternatives. Be prepared to pay a crazy amount of money.
[Here’s a previous thread](https://reddit.com/r/movingtojapan/comments/lt2vha/prozac_prescription_in_japan/) that probably has the info you need. Search the subreddit for more threads on this. Your options will vary depending on which medication you are using – some antidepressants (eg. Prozac, Celexa) aren’t available in Japan.
You might want to do a search in r/japanlife with the name of your medication, seeing as it’s an antidepressant you’ll most likely have to get a new prescription from a doctor in Japan.
Also be extra sure that your medication is legal in Japan, if it’s not you could get in trouble at the airport no matter how small the supply is.
