I’m planning to rent a car for some parts of my upcoming trip in December. Would appreciate it if anyone can comment on what the drive would be like (roads, traffic, driving conditions etc) for the following routes in late December:
1. Kii-katsuura to Nagoya
2. Nagoya to Kiso Valley
3. Kiso Valley to Takayama
I’ve put the routes into Google maps and they don’t seem too bad but I’m most worried about driving to Takayama from Kiso Valley in terms of snow. The express bus for this route doesn’t run in December so I’m wondering if this is any indication of what the weather conditions would be like. Train wise, it seems inefficient to have to go back to Nagoya from Kiso Valley to go to Takayama.
