Financial holdings for applying for Japanese citizenship?

Long story short, I am planning on using a 5 year stint as a JET to work my way to Japanese citizenship. My overall goal is to start a mushroom farming buisness in the inaka, so I’m hoping to transition straight into that once my time as a JET is up.

I’ll be coming to Japan with 8 million yen (will likely have a lot more after saving my JET salary), and an Electrical Engineering degree. I’m planning on volunteering with local farmers and renting a small plot of my own to work on in conjunction with JET (to better learn the trade and get good rep for when I eventually open up buisness).

Does anyone know if around 7 million yen in capital, along with a business plan, fully payed off housing and land, and other farmers to vouch for me enough to prove “survivability” after JET without having a full time job?

I’m hoping someone on here might have better understanding over the criteria for getting citizenship accepted,

Thank you, all!

  1. You have an engineering degree. Work in your home country for two years then apply to jobs in Japan. Don’t do JET, you’re screwing yourself.
