Hi all!
We are going to Japan for 15 days (14 nights) and we would like your feedback if what we planned makes sense.
We are going to mantain Tokyo and Osaka for travelling bases. We booked an hotel at Tokyo, and then in Osaka we found a really nice Airbnb at a low price, but there will be two nights that we are not going to sleep at this Airbnb (though, we payed for them at Osaka but I think is totally worth it because we are going to leave our luggage there, make laundry and let the clothes dry while we are out).
So, here we go:

|Day 0|29/03|Arrival at Tokyo Narita Airport (18:35h) and check-in at hotel.|

|Day 3|01/04|Day trip: **Nikko – Utsonomiya**|
|Day 4|02/04|Tokyo|
|Day 5|03/04|Tokyo|
|Day 6|04/04|**Morning in Tokyo and then train to Osaka.** Planned arrival at 15:00h. Check-in at Airbnb (12 minute walk from Shin-Osaka station) and go visit Osaka.|
|Day 7|05/04|We leave or baggage at Airbnb. **Early train to Takayama** with a small bag. Check-in at ryokan and visit the town.|
|Day 8|06/04|Early breakfast and **decide if we go visit Shirakawago**. If not, back to Osaka and finish visiting Osaka. **Night at Airbnb (Osaka).**|
|Day 9|07/04|**Early train to Hiroshima** with a small bag. Check-in at Airbnb there and visit the city.|
|Day 10|08/04|Early breakfast and visit **Miyajima**. Back to Osaka at noon.|
|Day 11|09/04|From Osaka (12 minute walk to Shin-Osaka) and **first day at Kyoto** (with JRPass I saw it’s a 15-20 minute train).|
|Day 12|10/04|Repeat **Kyoto**.|
|Day 13|11/04|Repeat **Kyoto**.|
|Day 14|12/04|**Universal Studios** (haven’t decided yet. Alternatives are welcome!)|
|Day 15|13/04|Nara.|
|Day 16|14/04|Plane leaves at 09:55h from Osaka KIX.|

As you can see, days 7 to 10 are a bit intense, but we planned like this because we wanted to stay at a ryokan in Takayama, and we found only those days available. Although, we saw that Takayama is closer to Osaka than Tokyo.
The fact that we booked an Airbnb for days 6 to 16 at Osaka, but having a few days not staying at it, makes a little nonsense. But we were a little concerned about carrying our baggage up and down. Because the deal was so good, we decided to “waste” the money for two night in exchange for comfort while going to Takayama and Hiroshima.
What do you think? Is it good? We are now planning what to visit every day, but my opinion is that we made the “right choices” considering our travelling tastes.
