I was hoping to get rid of some clothes I don’t wear anymore and wondered where I should go to sell them since I’ve never done it here before. I’m in Nagoya but any shop names are welcome and greatly appreciated!
You can bring them to BookOff, 2nd Street, etc. but they pay quite low. If you’re bringing in unbranded clothes, it’s much better to just donate them or throw them away. 🤔
Better give them away in motainai groups in fb. You will not have to carry anything since they go to your place.
Depends on where in Nagoya you are but a lot of Book Offs accept clothes, and even if you can’t find one that does the second shop closest to your home probably does. Especially if you’re a man they may not pay you but worst case scenario they will probably still take the clothes off your hands and dispose of them for you, especially if you agree to buy something on the way out. I lost over 20 kilos at one point and had to replace literally everything, I got 0 yen from the local second shop but I didn’t have to worry about sorting them properly in the trash (easy for one or two garments, hard for an entire wardrobe)
If you got time and the clothes are in usable condition, you would make a lot more by listing them all individually on Mercari or similar. Any recycle shop would give you something along the lines of 100 yen per 20kg, if even that. Other replies already covered the locations.
H&M will give you a 500yen coupon if you donate clothes.
Second hand shop (someone gave a few names above) will give you 1 yen per item if they find the smallest little defect on said item, including stain, holes etc…
I once sold a nicely branded item which I received as uniform in my previous job but rarely worn, and they bought it 2,000yen. Brand new in shop it would have been 30,000yen.
