This will be my 2nd trip to Japan, the first trip was a week spent all in Tokyo. I ordered a sim card for Mobal that was delivered to my home address a few months ago that I’ll probably swap out with my current sim when the plane lands.
I’m planning on waking up around 6:00 everyday and getting to the main attractions to avoid rush hour and tourists. Only thing I haven’t planned out yet is how to get from Haneda to my hotel in Shinjuku, but I think I’ll be fine if I wing it. I’ve also never taken the shinkansen before so that will be fun to figure out.
I love anime and food, so any recommendations regarding those would be great. I’ve saved up 3 years worth of Japan funds since Covid canceled my Spring 2019 trip, so budgeting is the last thing on my mind.

That day is Tori-no-ichi, so you should definitely go there. In Tokyo, the most famous ones are held in Asakusa and Shinjuku, but since you are staying in Shinjuku, you might as well go to Hanazono Shrine.

You are planning to visit Rikugien during the daytime, but only during this season the garden is open at night when it is illuminated. So why not go there at night instead of during the day? The gardens are open until 8:30 p.m., It would be difficult to change the time of the reservations for Imahan and Kondo, so why not go on the evening of the 30th?
