Other ways to learn Japanese

I’m currently learning my third language, and the only thing I’m doing is study via duolingo every day, it’s actually helping, but everyone keeps saying that it exists other better forms to learn Japanese, any suggestions to other books or apps?

  1. Even distribution of grammar and sentence patterns, vocab, kanji. And trying to distribute practice in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Genki and Tae Kim’s online guide are common starting points.

  2. Lots of textbooks exist. It seems like Genki and Minna No Nihongo are the most popular recommendations.

As for apps, I use Renshuu for vocabulary and Kanji! for learning kanji. The textbooks are on the pricy side, but the two apps are affordable since you won’t need to buy the full version of Renshuu until you’re at around N3 level.

  3. If you‘re willing to pay money, I recommend NativShark. Gives you everything you need on a silver platter which is way nicer than having to piece a good study plan together yourself imo

  4. Step 1 do vocabulary flashcards using anki and watch Japanese youtube and netflix daily

    Step 2 repeat until fluent
