There is very little info in English about this, but from my understanding the sea turtles are laying eggs during June so the beaches are closed for swimming/snorkeling until mid July. Unfortunately I’m only able to be there in June, towards the end of my 7 week Japan trip.
Does this mean I can’t even physically walk on the beach? There is a tide pool that is part of Isso Beach that is recommended for snorkeling. Is this also closed off because of the turtle’s egg laying?
(btw I think the fact that so many turtles lay eggs on the island is awesome, but I am a little disappointed if I’m not able to snorkel)

For Isso beach, the snorkeling side was the east side of the peninsula, which is a rocky beach, so I don’t think there’s any turtles nesting there.
