Hi all!
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience working with local tourism organisations on a freelance basis. To cut a long story short I work in another part of the travel industry and the local lot here asked to meet me and are keen to ‘collaborate’ further. They left it quite vague, asking me to have a think and come back to them, and to be honest caught be a little bit off guard (as I hadn’t really planned to do this kind of work for a while, at least until my business Japanese level catches up with my conversational). I can likely help them in guiding them towards putting some new product together that’s more likely to attract their new target market, and can put together some presentations, maybe even running these for them with friends and former colleagues of mine at B2C travel companies back at home, but my main issue is that I’m completely blind on what kind of fee one would charge for this kind of work. Obviously I don’t want to work for a pittance nor do I want to send them something laughably highball, so thought it worth asking if anyone does have any experience doing this or any other kind of similar consulting work and is happy to share. Feel free to DM too.
Many thanks!

Honestly I have no idea what a quote in this case would be, but if you’re not really out to make a profit, maybe try and calculate what your current job pays per hour roughly and quote them that.
That way the work done won’t be priced at a gouging rate, but you also won’t be working for under your worth.
