Is it a good idea to report a seemingly dangerous driver or would I just be wasting my time?

Today I undertook a driver on my bicycle whilst the light was on red. It was one of the people who leave absolutely no space for cyclists.

After this he over took me whilst coming close to me and screaming at me. So I at the next light I took a picture of him and his license plate and they he started to make threatening gestures towards me.

Should I report this or is it a waste of time?

You are supposed to leave no space for cyclists when turning left in Japan. Cyclists should never use anything other than the left side of the left lane, to turn right you need to do a 2 point turn. Unless you are on a moped and there’s a sign allowing it.

  2. They actually have complaint mailboxes for this next to most vending machines. Just write a letter and pop it into the circular slot.

  3. Seems like a frustrating situation, man. Doesn’t seem like nobody will pay care to it unless you were to have the right connections.

  4. They need evidence. If you had video that’d be way better. But report him anyway. If someone else reported him before then it would help. Bring your residence card.

  5. I say yes. I had a serious cycling accident due to an a**h**** driver like that, leaving no space at all and taking all cycling lane. These people can cause life threatening situations for cyclists.
