How do you write Higemoji (髭文字) characters?

Higemoji characters are a subset of Edomoji characters with characteristic “whiskers,” hence the name “higemoji” ([https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edomoji](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edomoji)). How do you write these whiskers? Is a special brush used for these? They look quite distinct from other Edomoji characters and I can’t find any Youtube videos showing someone writing them.

  1. Maybe you can ask the japanese reddit r/ja?

I am just intrigued by your question and have no deeper knowledge of japanese calligraphy, I did search a bit around before typing this though.

Could it be that the edomoji (and thus the higemoji) because of their use are exclusively created as lettering for print. (Via wikipedia links, I found one resource separating them from handwritten styles, https://www.sljfaq.org/afaq/shotai.html)

Then, the hige would be a removal of the letter inverted mold? The english wikipedia on edomoji mentions that there are strict 7-5-3 stroke rules for the hige. That would be easier to follow, if the letter is inverted and the hige a removal of stamp area.
