Any Places that Pick Up Broken Fridges?

I have a fridge I bought in 2019. Looks great, in good condition, except that it’s not working anymore. I’m pretty sure the start relay on the compressor broke, but I’m not a handyman so that’s just my best guess. I’d rather give it to a shop that could repair it and sell it, than just throw it out. Are there any places in Tokyo that do this? I’ve called a few recycling shops and none of them take broken fridges it seems.

  1. I just took an old mini fridge to Yamada denki for disposal/recycling, as my local trash collection place wouldn’t take it. I had to take it there myself and they charged me about 5500 yen. Not exactly an answer to your question though, but maybe help to get you on the right track. Sorry!

  2. If you buy a new one they can take the old one when they deliver it but you do have to pay a recycling fee on old appliances.
