Cycle route planning question

I’m planning a cycling route for the end of my trip from Kyoto back to Tokyo where I’ll have my flight. The route starts in front of the Kyoto Gyoen National Garden and goes along the shore of lake Biwa to Hikone, then to Gifu, then follows up to Gujo, passes by Gero and then goes to Achi. The road then follows up to Okaya, then back down to Minami-Alpsthen to Fujikawaguchiko, then Gotemba and follows the shore of Sagami bay to Yokohama. My question is, how do I find the roads in which cycling is not permitted? I have read the cycling law and I know that cycling is not permitted on highways and footpaths but are there other areas where cycling is not permitted? If a road does not have a cycling lane, is it acceptable to ride on the footpath (especially in the countryside or outside major cities)? I’m planning to complete the route in 7-8 days which would be a reasonable 60-70 km a day. Thank you in advance.
