Is there enough crime to support them? I’m not really kidding…the crime rate seems so ridiculously low (especially for major crimes, which are what require forensic investigators) that I have to wonder what happens if it becomes a popular course of study.
That’s great and all, but they could take a leaf out of the Furuhata Ninzaburo book.
i.e. only investigate very wealthy suspects, thereby getting free dinners, booze, theater tickets, and apparently lodgings; before brow-beating them relentlessly from beneath one’s bouffant, based on no evidence to speak of, until they break down and confess just to make it stop.
There wasn’t a single microscope, UV light, sperm sample, or even pair of white gloves to be found on that exemplary television programme.
