So basically I had to cancel an Amazon order today. I paid with a debit card, and I would like a bank transfer refund (my order was over 30,000 yen, and I don’t want so much in Amazon credits).
The cancellation confirmation mail I got says I have to contact them by phone, but I can’t find the number anywhere (nor the working hours, I’ve seen some places that say they close at 6pm, others at 9pm).
I’d be grateful if someone pointed me to the right direction. Thanks in advance!

Contact their chat support, but actually, refund by bank/etc can be initiated from the usual support page: https://www.amazon.co.jp/hz/contact-us/foresight/hubgateway
click orders, click the order you received, returns/exchange/refunds, i would like my refund by bank transfer, etc etc.
But if its a debit card, a refund on the card should be nearly instant, no? I don’t think it comes back in amazon points?
They don’t have a phone number – you can request a callback during business hours by going to the above page, clicking an item, other payment methods, i need more help, and next screen you can access to live chat / callback / email support.
“We are currently closed for the day. The normal business hours are from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM”
You can find it under the order details, refund and eventually “I need more help” (there’s probably an easier way to reach, but I’m on mobile now, so that was the easiest I know of. something should show up during working hours i believe
Just keep in mind that refunds to cards take AGES in Japan. Weeks to months.
From the support page select:
1 “My order”
2 Choose any issue (it doesn’t really matter)
3 “I need more help” button
4 The next screen will show you the support options, including phone support

This is their phone number. I called it fairly recently and went directly to customer service. They might even have English capability, you should ask.
