Hi all,
I’ll be going to Japan for a brief 5 day stay and I’m going to try to make the best of it. I previously went before so not unfamiliar with everything and I’ll be coming from another country I traveled in the same timezone (Philippines) so jetlag won’t be an issue. I’d like to see if there any way to switch things around to make traveling more convenient and such. Also open to recommendations since none of this is particularly set in stone in terms of the actual places. I’ll be bringing my camera and doing a good amount of photography.
As far as everything goes, this is my schedule at the moment:
12/12:
Land at about 7pm
Train to Tokyo hotel
Relax/rest and quick dinner somewhere (are night spas a thing in Tokyo?)
12/13:
Planning to hit up Tsukiji Fish Market then walk around Akihabara and/or Odaiba. Finish with an Onsen somewhere (The Odaiba one is closed I believe?).
12/14:
TeamLab Borderless since I missed it the first time around. Do some more sightseeing at Sensoji before taking the Shinkansen to Kyoto. Once in Kyoto, plan to do a nice dinner by the Kamogawa River (did this last time but it was such a nice experience that I’d liek to do it again)
12/15:
This is my least set in stone day! Planning to stop by Nishiki Market and Gion District. My friend recommended Wajoryomen Sugari as their favorite dipping noodle spot so planning to hit that up. I’d like to end dinner with a fancy Kobe beef meal but unsure where in Kyoto.
12/16:
Do a last convenience store run, take the Shinkansen back to Tokyo and take the train back to Narita for my flight home.
The primary thing I’m worried about is sequencing where I’m going, but I’m leaving a lot of room for relaxing since my last trip was pretty much go-go-go. Also planning to finally book my hotels in Tokyo and Kyoto if anyone has any recommendations.

I’m also from the Philippines and will be in Kyoto/ Tokyo next week! o/ Have you booked your tickets already? It might be more efficient to get multicity flights (I’ve done PAL and Cebu Pacific MNL-KIX, NRT-MNL before) so you don’t waste time taking the bullet train back to Tokyo for your flight back. What is your budget for Kobe beef/ Kamogawa river dinner (although fair warning not sure what time of the year you visited last time, it may be too cold to dine outside near a body of water in late December).

You’re going to miss it this time too. It’s closed.
The Tsujiki fish market moved to Toyosu now.
