People with one Japanese parent, how did you level up your Japanese?

I grew up in the U.S. speaking Japanese with my mom as my first language, and we spent a good chunk of every summer in Japan with family until I reached my teens. My Japanese is good in that my grammar and accent are native, but I never learned much kanji (addressing that now using WaniKani) and have the vocabulary of a child. I would love to read and speak at the level of a Japanese adult rather than a 7-year-old. Anyone else from a similar situation have tips for improving?

Right now, I’m doing daily WaniKani, reading every night (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) and talking to a Japanese tutor on iTalki once a week to expand my conversational vocab beyond what my mom uses.
