Love it. Should be a real passing of the torch moment.
I have to admit I am queasy. I just feel like it’d be so tiring for Ospreay to lose and for the US title to once again be stuck outside of the company and for Will to lose all of his momentum.
If he wins though it will be a fantastic story beat. When they had that promo battle in AEW Kenny threw a lot at Will but the one thing that really made Will start seething is when Kenny said he could beat Okada and Will couldn’t.
Will has a lot of bravado and circumstance about him but when he lost to Okada in the G1 finals it all fell apart. Okada is the reason he started this run in the first place, and when he loses to him when it counts once again he is sent back to the start. Beating the man who ended the 720-day reign will bring him one step closer to finally proving himself in his mind.
Will really is the best in the world. I don’t look at this sort of thing from an in-ring perspective – Will’s character journey is the most engaging in wrestling today, by far. I am so invested in everything he does right now. So surreal for me to even say that as someone who couldn’t stand Junior babyface flippy Ospreay. He has come a long way. G133 is his to win.
Great, because Omega already proved how loyal he is to Japan
I guess Lenny decided that New Japan has grown enough without him so he can once again grace us w his marathon false finish matches.
Personally I don’t see the point in the US title. It’s not defended in the US, it’s not US style wrestling matches, it’s not even the top belt in the US branch of the promotion. It’s the IC belt 2.0.
Looking forward to the match, not looking forward to the US title being held hostage again in AEW.
Dave already came.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. I don’t wanna see the US title disappear for another year.
This is good for WK and for Will and will give us a very I interesting match. If Will is going to lose then I believe it can become a kind of face-turn for him, but I think it is more likely that Omega who is not working for NJPW will just come over to put him over. Unless they have plans for longer programs, as then other things become possible.
But I am positive to this and Omega vs Ospreay will become a banger in any case!
Now just add something nice for Shibata on that card and I will be more than happy!
Man that U.S. Title is dinged up.
You can see the paint coming off of it in that photo.
Still a gorgeous belt, but man has it been through it.
This match is gonna blow the roof off the Tokyo Dome.
And I can’t wait to hear Devil’s Sky again. Hopefully it’s that and not his AEW theme he comes out to. Devil’s Sky would only be right.
I can not wait I can not wait to see one of my favorite njpw wrestler and my first favorite aew wrestler kenny omega going against will ospreay for the first time at next years wrestle kingdom 17 2023 for the iwgp us title I can’t wait the match is going to be great and I can’t wait to see kenny omega win and beat ospreay to win the iwgp us title this is match is going to be my favorite match im going to love this match.
Even though they’ve been teasing it for a while, I didn’t necessarily think it was going to happen… huge match for WK.
Ospreay said backstage that “the sands of time are running out for him and New Japan”, I hope this isn’t just him dropping the belt before he leaves the company.
If ospreay loses this, then good night.
Hoping to hear Devil’s Sky once again, but thats kinda unlikely
Do yall think Will is gonna pull out a buckshot lariat?
And I’m officially not watching Wrestle Kingdom.
Kinda want to give up on the company in general, but that’s probably the emotions talking.
So many bitter fucks not appreciating this dream match here lmao
This match is already a match of the year contender for the next year(Can’t wait for Dave Meltzer to give this match 39158133 stars lol).Interesting fact is written deal of kenny with AEW expires on February of 2023 and I wonder if he is staying with AEW after the CM Punk incident or going back to NJPW as a full time wrestler.
