I am considering leaving my current job in a month. I’m in a very toxic work situation. I’m a preschool teacher at an International Preschool. I’ve been at this current job for a year and a half. My co-teacher bullies me daily and micromanages me to the point where I feel I am walking on eggshells everyday. I have gone to management over this issue and formally resigned in September. They insisted that I stay until March, but nothing in the classroom has changed. As a result, my mental health has taken a nosedive, and I don’t want to risk my mental health further.
After teaching English in Japan for seven years, I want to change my career.
I have been taking some technical courses through Udemy and FreeCodeCamp, and would like to transition into Web Development. I want to enroll in a web development boot camp through Le Wagon. The program is eligible for the Professional Practical Education and Training Benefits Program. Would it be possible to receive unemployment benefits while also receiving this benefit?
Has anyone else changed careers in Japan while on a work visa?
