Credit cards for minors

im 16 and going to study alone in japan for a year and i’m from europe (so i use euros), i’m going to use a wise credit card that’s in the name of my dad. Question 1/ do they ask for an ID when you use a credit card in japan? Question 2/ Are there other good credit cards without too much transfer fee and that could be used by minors?
Any past experience is greatly appreciated.

  2. You can link any country Visa/MasterCard to a Suica/Pasmo in Apple Wallet and use that to pay anywhere that doesn’t take foreign cards

  4. Have you or your dad deposit money into a Charles Schwab savings account. Withdrawals are completely reimbursed in foreign countries. That’s the card I first used when I first traveled to Japan at the age of 17.
