  1. I got these from a friend, and it tastes like a salty cherry. Can anyone tell me more about these – what they are and maybe even how they’re made? Also, are they used in any recipes or are they just eaten as a snack?

    Thanks!

  2. It’s 梅しば漬(Umeshibazuke), the Snack type. (aka., Kari-kari ume (カリカリ梅))

It’s made from plum with shiso(紫蘇) for colour, and add vinegar, salt, and etc for sweety-soury taste.

Normally eating as snack, but also you can try it with rice or ochazuke, onigiri, fried rice, or so on.

  3. Haw flakes (Chinese: 山楂餠; pinyin: shānzhā bǐng) are Chinese sweets made from the fruit of the Chinese hawthorn.

  4. Oh! Kari kari ume! They’re dried salted Japanese plums, my family loves them! You can eat them as a snack or with rice or something ^_^

  5. Do you guys know/want some apps to support buying/managing some foods in Japanese shop? I am guessing it’s useful in like this post case.

I’m sorry, if this comment isn’t appropriate here.

  6. It looks like a green oshiri tantei … weirdly there really is candy of that character
