Mentioning about qualifying for the HSP visa for job applications

This is my first experience with job applications (in general, not only in Japan) , and I’m wondering whether mentioning I would qualify as a HSP would be seen as a positive or negative thing here. So any insights would be really helpful.

The field would be IT-related, if it makes a difference.

  1. Wouldn’t make a difference. They only care whether you have a valid working visa or whether you will need to apply for a visa.

Many companies will avoid you if you do not currently have permission to work, since it takes time and paperwork for a visa and creates extra risk for them.

  2. How would you know you qualify as a HSP without knowing the salary you’re going to get? Also, a regular working visa is easier to apply and get approved for than the HSP.
