2-1 appreciation thread

Hell of a match; Japan was a different team in the second half, and their second (edit due to inability to count) goal might very well end up being one of the goals of the tournament.

  1. It was a different team indeed. A lot more dynamic, they were more confident in their ideas and holy crap that second goal was amazing!

  2. As an international student, I was watching from the monitor of my Indian friend’s dorm room with a Thai, Korean, Ghana, British, Japanese and Sri Lanka in it, all cheering. (3 of the above are half Japanese). Banzai!

  3. The game totally turned after the subs were brought on in the second half and the formation was changed.

Definitely Asano’s goal was the goal of the tournament so far. The way he controlled that long pass and got it in the goal at such a tight angle with the defender on him all the way!

  4. Honestly, I lost all hope after the toothless first half, and I didn’t expect the substitutions to work out so well. It also seems that the German team generally has some problems with motivation after they score first, and no solution has been found so far

  5. Only saw the first half due to personal plans. I’m amazed at the result, and the last goal was nice.

  6. Was cramming homework while my neighbors had a watch party. Knew Japan won when the apartment above me started going EYYY
