Hello Reddit. This is my first post, I hope I’m not redundant 😅
As of right now, I’m living (alone) at Saga as an Intern in Instructional Design. I’m getting paid 91000¥ per month, and I got an offer at Hiroshima because my contract is coming to an end. The problem comes now, they asked me if “I’m hoping to be paid for this”, and I don’t know what to answer. I mean I want to get paid, that’s for sure. I mean… I want to “survive” 😣. But I don’t mind being paid like 91000¥ a month (600¥ per hour), I don’t really know if it’s too much tho. I would like some advice to know if you think I should ask for money or not. How to ask, and things like that.
I really want the job, because it will really impact my CV as well as be a huge opportunity for my future projects. But there’s also, and here comes my second point, my girlfriend. I’ve known her for 3 years and talked through LINE when I wasn’t in the country. I moved in a few months ago (my visa isn’t permanent or anything like that) and since late October, we’ve been in a long-distance relationship (we kind of “officialized it”). And I want to join her in Hiroshima.
The problem is, I’m scared of not asking enough to live in Hiroshima with her or even alone (Saga is really cheap). AND living with her. I’ve read a lot of posts and comments where when both partners start living together or get married, they start fighting, he has to pay for everything, etc. And how to ask her about how she’s expecting marriage and things like that (via LINE).

Bro 600 must be illegal. Get paid a living wage and nothing below min. wage as a starter. If you don’t have self respect they’re gonna fuck you over.

I do not know your field of work thus have no idea which could be a normal starting wages or compensation if it is internship, so if nobody knowledgeable enough came to answer me, I would go to the nearest Hello work and ask for their opinion as I would except them to, if not having the information, have kind of an idea of where I could get it.
The current minimum wage in Hiroshima is 930yens while the one in Saga is is 853. Do not ask less than the minimum and adjust the requested salary to Hello work suggestions. If you are scared about them withdrawing their proposal, you should try to not be too assertive, like “I do not know if it right”, but be aware you showing weakness could be taken avantage of.
After what you settle to and why you choose to is up to you. Try to not sell yourelf cheap as much as possible, if you can, I would just suggest.
