After moving out: Can I stay for travelling

Hello everybody!

I have a question regarding the Residence Card and if it’s possible to stay in Japan after a move out for just travelling.

I will try to explain my situation:
I have a one year student visa, but my term ends on February 28th, and I will have to move out on this day. But is it possible to travel in Japan? I would only like to stay two to three weeks longer and my visa is still valid until June 2023.
Do I need to change something? Or can I just travel for a few more weeks?
Because on my residence card won‘t be an Adress anymore, and I only know, that I will hand the card back in at the airport ….

Maybe someone can help me

  1. Should not be a problem at all, just make sure to fill out your moving out papers appropriately. It is perfectly fine to not have a valid registered address as long as you have a valid reason. Generally, “travelling before leaving the country” should be considered a perfectly valid reason.
