Canadian passports for my baby born in Japan? 1 parent Japanese 1 Canadian

Is it possible to have both Passports?

  1. Yes, dual citizens can have both passports. Also, both Japan and Canada legally require you to enter on their passport if you are a citizen of that country.

  2. Yes but just so you know it’s like a current wait list of like, two years for Canadian one. I’m applying now for my baby.

  3. Depends. If you were born in Canada you can pass down citizenship but if you were born outside Canada you probably can’t, even if your parents are Canadian. If you were born outside Canada but naturalized before the baby was born you probably can pass it down. If the baby is born in Canada though then obviously they will get citizenship
