Solo 6 day trip to Tokyo.

Hey everyone, I’m planning a 6 day trip to Tokyo from March 30th to April 5th. I’m flying in and out of Tokyo, so I can choose to either spend all 6 days in Tokyo, or I was thinking of doing 2 nights in Tokyo, 2 nights in Kyoto and 2 nights in Osaka, which I’m willing to change my schedule, if anybody thinks I should spend a day extra or less at either city, since I’m on a tight schedule. I’ll be traveling by myself, so I’ll have to find a way to entertain myself without any company. I have no budget and I’m open for any activity. Preferably places where I can take awesome pictures for Instagram, which I’m sure is all of Japan. I don’t eat sushi though, so I’ll be sticking to ramen and meals that contain chicken, or beef without much vegetables. Here’s a rough itinerary of what I had in mind.

**Tokyo**

– Day 1

*Arrive at Narita Airport @ 2:00pm

*Check in at Hotel Sunroute Plaza, right next to the Shinjuku Station.

*check out shibuya crossing, shibuya sky, Hachiko Memorial statue, explore Kabukicho/Golden Gai in the night time.

– Day 2

*Visit Nintendo World, Team Labs, Senso Ji, and any other recommendations would help, if times allows it.

**Kyoto**

– Day 3

*Take train from Shinjuku Station to Kyoto

*explore the Gion area, Higashiyama ward

– Day 4

*Visit Kinkaku-ji and any other recommendations you might have.

**Osaka**

– Day 5

*Take train to Osaka

* Possibly go straight to Universal Studios Japan and visit Super Nintendo World and then visit Dotonbori District in the night time, or ditch Universal Studios and save that for another trip.

Day 6

* Maybe visit Universal Studio Japan again, Osaka Castle, Dotonobori District again and any other recommendations

-Day 7

*Take train to Tokyo to catch flight from Narita Airport at 4:45pm

  1. Be prepared to only do 10% of this list. That’s a lot of stuff crammed in for only 6 days. Traveling between those cities is more time consuming than you think. I spent an extra three hours in the Osaka train station because I was distracted by the amazingness. Also, there is way more Japanese food than ramen and I hope you try them while you are there.

  2. should probably do just osaka and kyoto and do tokyo on another trip 6 days is far too short

  3. I’d ditch Universal. That’s gonna be a full day and you’re going to be pretty tired already. Add another day to Kyoto. In Osaka, definitely hit the castle and dotonbori. Go to the dotonbori on an empty stomach. Tons of food.

  4. You got Golden Gai on there so that’s great! Definitely be sure to hit an onsen while you’re there, you won’t regret it! Some of my favorite memories of Japan. I think kyoto would probably be the best out of the three cities for this. Also I would recommend the bamboo forest in kyoto if you have time. Also I’m pretty sure Osaka could be a day trip from kyoto if that’s something you’re interested in in order to spend more time in kyoto
