I was talking to someone today in Japanese about characters from a game and I was a little confused about a situation where they said I should’ve used は over を. The sentence was:
「かずは***を***好きですか。」
I would assume it is because 好き is an adjective (which I realized afterward) and not a verb and therefore is a descriptive term and not a direct action, but please correct me if not.
Can i use 長い to express the length of time, or is it more natural to use 永い?
Maybe this isn’t the right sub to ask this question, but it cant hurt to try, so…..
is there any subject regarding Japanese language that hasn’t been fully researched and not all of its mysteries have had answers found for them? Anything that still has room left for more research and experiments?
Like, do we know everything there is to know about Manyogana, or are there still some incomplete theories and whatnot? Do we know everything about how certain foreign words found their way into JP? That kind of thing.

I saw this in a book and I was wondering about it. I think it means “I couldn’t believe my own eyes”
The book had furigana and 我 was pronounced as わ.
Can you say this phrase to someone (assuming you had a good reason to), or would it sound strange to actually use this?
