I’m going to get my new card next week but I moved in between my application and renewal.
Can I just tell immigration to update it when I get the card or should I take the card and use there online website to update it or something ?
My fear is I tell them I moved and then I’ll get questioned a lot or wait even more.
I haven’t been to city hall yet to update any information about the move.
Card is currently expired but I have the papers stamped into my passport saying I’m good to be here until XYZ. I’m sure this will be difficult if I go to city hall with an expired card.

Just bring it to city hall and they will fill in the new address.

Address changes are done at City/Ward offices, not immigration.
Get the new card, take it to city hall and change the address there. That’s about it.

Do you have the post card to pick up the new resident card? Like if not, immigration think you reside at AddressX so they will send the post care to addressX unless you tell them you now reside at AddressY.

You want to get that sorted ASAP. You only have 14 days (without a justifiable good reason) as per the ‘basic resident register act’

You should have that two month buffer either in the card (or if renewed online, confirmation of extended 2 months from immigration)?
