Itinerary check and suggestions

I’m doing a last-minute trip to Japan and am hoping for suggestions/gut check on this itineraries. I’ve already been to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and will be going there again with a friend on a later part of my trip. Because of that I decided I would go somewhere different and thought that mountains and the Japan Sea coast would be unique place to go. I ideally would like to visit some nice mountain onsens, though staying at one might be tough on short notice. I have a JR pass for this whole time period, and not much booked except for hotels in Tokyo and Nagano.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

  1. Enjoy. You can stay at the mountain overnight. There’s a hostel with the highest onsen in Japan there.
