Activities that you can perform while doing Anki

Hey guys!
I have a hard time doing my Anki sessions because of lack of focus, it’s a boring process and often anything distracts me and it takes much longer than it should so. I have tried to break up the session into several parts throughout the day, which has helped a bit, but I think if I could do some other activity at the same time it would help me establish routine. Unfortunately there are few activities that don’t use the hands or demand concentration. I have considered buying a treadmill even for this purpose. Does anyone have any suggestions in this regard?

  1. I use to do the Memrise speed test while riding on an exercise bike (sometimes called a stationary bike).

It’s was kinda perfect because that sort of exercising is already such a boring activity that it begs for you to find something else to focus on.

  2. I like to listen to podcasts/watch videos that don’t require too much focus.

  3. If it’s that boring are you sure that it’s effective? How many cards are you doing a day? How many minutes does your routine take?

You shouldn’t need to be doing anything else at the same time. Maybe adjust your study schedule to work better with what keeps you engaged.

  4. When I use Anki I can’t really do anything else because then I’m not concentrating on remembering the words and then my repetitions are wrong. You may need to just shorten your review window. Perhaps play some background music?
