Hey guys, I have no idea if this is a FAQ or if there is something I missed, but does anyone know/can explain why they pushed the departure dates another three weeks (for most consulates it seems). I know the answer is basically, “COVID” but what does pushing arrival one month accomplish? Are they staggering out arrivals more? Are there rising cases or something happening that I don’t know about?
I did try and look into it a little bit, but I’m just not sure what’s going on and I’m curious.

As far as I understood it, it’s because Japan is now opening its borders to tourists in tour groups with restrictions to how many people can enter Japan (20,000 people/day). To accommodate for the tourists coming into Japan, they have to stagger the JET arrivals. That’s my guess!
Entry restrictions.
I don’t know where in the world you are, but I am in Europe and I have also had my departure date moved by roughly a month, but the local embassy here said that it is due to the russian invasion of Ukraine.
Where does it say that? My departure is still the 24th. Here in the us..
Hi! Would you be able to attach the 2022 statement of physician form? I only have the 2021 one (was a 2021 JET that never departed) and filled that one out but I realized I need the 2022 form
