1 week left of JLPT! How’s everyone feeling so far?

Taking n2. My scores are improving little by little but still struggling with the A/B article questions of the grammar part 🥲🥲

  1. I’m getting so nervous! I’m taking the N4 this year and I just hope all my studying will pay off with good scores

  2. I’m taking N4. There’s a good chance I won’t pass. I’m ok with it. I learned quite a bit just studying. I’m actually looking forward to reading my growing pile of manga instead of my textbooks.

  3. The closer it gets the less I study. My brain is like “It’s too late to do anything else useful” so that sucks lol

  4. I skimmed through Genki vol. 2 so I could take N4 test as people say N5 is meaningless. Now I am speedrunning through the test preparation material, there is a chance that I would pass if I able to reach the listening portion of my review material (stuck at passage reading at the moment). Whether I pass or not, I will probably take a break from learning Japanese for a couple months.

I also fell into the Kanji trap as many redditors. I can answer most kanji questions but my other skills are abysmal. Really wish I had followed my current learning setup instead of wasting time just learning kanji like I did a couple years ago.

  5. I’m taking N4 and was feeling very unprepared but I took a practice test a week and a half ago and passed it. I’m still not nearly as prepared as I’d like to be but I thiiiiiink I’ll be okay.

  6. N4 and losing my mind.

I feel so unprepared and no matter how much I study I stay feeling unprepared.

  7. I’ve done quite a few practice questions for the N3 and I was nervous, but I seem to be getting most of the questions right. Though I haven’t done any proper timed practice exams so maybe That will be an issue but we’ll see

  8. Cancelled in Russia, again. Couldn’t really put any significant practice in with everything going on around here, I’m so tired of this.

  9. I, uh… I bought an otome game so I can pretend to actually study. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna fail N1, but, meh. That’s my own fault.

  10. Not feeling hopeless, but also not trying to get my hopes up as I’ve failed N1 two times already.

  11. Taking the N3. Got a perfect score on reading comprehension on a practice test but my listening comprehension is relatively poor. Idk the score yet because it’s still getting graded. but damn. 聴解 is tough for some reason.

  12. Took a practice test in a classroom setting. I got 129.2/150. Taking N4. Feel pretty good. I’m still going to keep doing prep. Kanji is definitely my strongest.

  13. N1.

I was doing better in practice/previous tests 2 months ago than I am now. I’m still passing them by raw score, but not so comfortably.

Life did its thing and I barely touched Japanese for about 6 weeks, and my grammar knowledge apparently took a big hit. Vocab/Grammar section is a fucking mess.

Reading is fine. I do a lot of reading, ans there’s enough info there for me to sort of fill in the blanks. Usually end up with nearly full marks.

Listening is… Losing focus is my enemy. If I can stay focused it’s easy, but I get sidetracked and miss entire questions.

So I’m going into it thinking I’ll probably pass, but not as comfortably as I thought I would.

  14. My exam got cancelled due to elections in my State. Feeling sad. I really invested significant time and energy this year. Now, I am really apprehensive of changing my level for July’23. I feel like the jump might be too much and six months might not be enough.

  15. I’m taking N1, the last practice test I did was 160/180, the months before my score was between 130-150/180. Feeling pretty confident, I just hope that I won’t be too nervous on test day.

  16. Taking the N2, hoping to ギリギリpass so I can start job hunting! Listening and Kanji and surprisingly reading(!?) Are fairly strong but 文法 is always a massive flop so idk. I think I could be really lucky or really unlucky on the day with the exam content
