Greetings All, Question on IVF in Japan

Me and my wife have been married for 5 years now. Have been trying for baby and had a few miscarriages. It was depressing, as a result I wanted to change something and have got a job in Japan with sponsored Visa and the Salary is Base : 13.5 M , incentive : 3.6 M
And JB : 3 M , I’m not desperate to change country but I’m a bit frustrated with my country due to the quality ( a third world country but a good economy)., feel free to answer if you can.

1. With the said Salary, how much can I save ?
Just me and my wife, i can work remote anywhere in Japan.

( I’m in some debt at my home town and have to take care of parents financials)

2. Can expats do IVF in Japan, how much does it cost ? What’s the IVF experience like if someone has done it.

  1. Is your wife Japanese? Just wondering because you can’t work remotely in Japan unless you have the proper Visa for it or you’re sponsored by a Japanese company.

Fertility Clinics do exist here and I think are partially covered by the National Healthcare but I don’t have any information on that.

To do IVF you need access to a large urban hospital, most likely a medical university hospital—Working really “remotely” in the countryside will not be as easy as living in the city to get IVF.

By properly signing up for Japanese health insurance, the [cost of IVF will be covered 70%](https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2022/04/01/national/japan-ivf-support/). However, the remaining 30% of IVF costs could be millions of yen and because your base income (13.5 M) is so high that you will not qualify for government assistance programs.

Prices for IVF can be as low as [Â¥670,000](https://tinytotintokyo.com/ivf-in-japan-pippas-story) to as high as [millions of yen over several years for multiple IVF cycles.](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/nov/06/japan-to-help-cover-ivf-costs-in-attempt-to-avert-demographic-crisis)
