So I am studying hard every day, and reading, vocab and grammar is easy to study. However, listening skills are lacking and I am wondering if there is a trick to it, as the thought process is alien to an English native. I use discord, watch anime and Japanese movies and listen to a lot of music but the process is slow.
Is there another direction to tackle this?

Follow Japanese language instructors on YouTube or Spotify. They tend to use relatively simpler words and know how to pace themselves.
