Entertainment Visa

Hello!

I hope this isn’t a funny question, It’s just that i’m very clueless about Japanese immigration and from experience with other countries, immigration can be random sometimes..

I’m about to apply for a job that would require an entertainer work visa. The company has a lot of experience with issuing visas and it’s a big company so in terms of documents needed etc I’m not too worried.

I am married and my husband is not coming with me (it’s a 2-year contract)

he has a work contract in another country.

My question is would there be any issues with my visa application that I’m married? (I know it sounds funny but some countries have different requirements for that type of stuff..)

and, will he be able to visit me without issues?

Thank you so much!

    Naw, should be fine.

The covid shenanigans are still a factor, but nothing that a trip to his nearest consulate won’t be able to overcome.

  2. I agree that the visa shouldn’t be impacted. I have many married foreign co-workers that lease their spouse behind until they are settled in Japan and apply for dependent visas. The government doesn’t know if they will or won’t apply to have their family come over.

As for your husband visiting, it depends on what citizenship he has and the covid situation. Currently he wouldn’t be able to visit, but as the borders open up it opens up the possibility. If he’s American then he can come to Japan for up to 90 days without getting a visa. If he’s from a different country then you will need to look into what he needs to visit Japan. Some countries are like the US and don’t require a visa, but others require you to apply a visitor visa and the time you can stay in Japan can be shorter.
