Dropping off your resume in person for an English teaching position? Experience is this?

Does anyone have experience just walking in to the school in person and dropping off a resume? I really want to work at this particular school.

  1. We had a woman try to do this and we told her to apply online. She was like but I don’t have internet access. How do I apply online. I thought it’s a good filter.

  2. Yeah it’s how I got my current job. Walked in to see if they’d accept a part time worker, I can only work sat and Sunday and they jumped at the opportunity. But I’m in a smaller city so results may vary

  3. I’d say it definitely hurts your chances more than helps them.
Contact the company by email and talk to them there. If they’re interested they will offer to have you come by for a visit and chat.

I will say, it’s a nice way to filter out the weirdos. If you can’t make an appointment and you just show up randomly, that’s a big red flag in my mind.
