Hi, everyone! I’ll be in Hokkaido from March 2-10 and wanted insight on my itinerary. I can’t drive and I know the place is big, so I’ve planned the following order but wanted to hear your thoughts in case there’s another more efficient way to do these.
Interests: want to see snow (I’m from a tropical country), try local/exclusive to Hokkaido foods and (alcoholic) drinks, not a big fan of hiking, want to see as much of Ainu culture as possible.
Two combined means I’m planning to spend half day in each (or it’s in the way to the next location).
? marks can be removed… tho I’d love to keep those if possible lol
Day 1 Sapporo (more time here depending on the removal of any of the below)
Day 2 Kamui Ski Links, overnight at Asahikawa
Day 3 Asahikawa > late afternoon at Sounkyo Festival, overnight at Sounkyo
Day 4 Lake Akan (via Kitami)
Day 5 *Shikaribetsu Kotan (via Kushiro)?*
Day 6 *Unkai Gondola?* \> Upopoy Ainu Museum > Overnight at Noboribetsu
Day 7 Noboribetsu Onsen > pass through Lake Toya for souvenirs > Overnight at Hakodate
Day 8 Hakodate + Matsumae Castle (more time here depending on the removal of any of the above)
If there is any other place I should check/replace with, please let me know!
Thanks in advance!!

Matsumae Castle is closed in winter (opens up on 10 April), because of snow cover.
