I’m writing an article on Gotokuji temple and there’s so many different information and very little of it, is there anyone here that knows when exactly the temple was built etc.?
Some sources say 1680s by some shogun dude and some 1480s by some other dude its very confusing

In 1480, Masatada KIRA (吉良政忠) built a heritage (temple), was called Kotoku-in (弘徳院), in order to pray for his dead aunt Kotoku-in. In 1633, Naotaka II (井伊直孝) made Kotoku-in the heritage (temple) his family temple. From that time on, Kotoku-in the heritage (temple) come to be called Gotoku-ji temple.
